House Rennovations: Coming Together

The builder have been in for a week now. They have put the membrane on the walls and this week are going to start on the drain and pump.
I have nearly finished the wiring. Though what possessed me to install 41 downlighters, I’ll never know. So far I have installed:
200 meters of cable for the ring mains.
200 meters of cable for the lights.
25 meters of coax.
25 meters of network cable.
75 meters of four core for the thermostats and two way lights.
I only have two lighting circuits left.
The next major project is putting the central heating back together. I have fixed the boiler to the wall but I have little or no idea how pressurised systems go back together. Hopefully I will be able to make something of the jigsaw of pipes that are in the yard. I would ask Norman for advice, but he is in Grease.
The underfloor heating man from John Guest is coming today to explain how it all goes together. I have a pile of questions for him.

We have got stuck in and the list of jobs completed so far is:
1. Patio Door replaced with a window. Window replaced with a door.
2. Internal patio’s removed (They were built on to the wooden floor, which was slowly rotting beneath them.
3. Ceilings removed.
4. Playroom and Utility room knocked into one.
5. Dining Area floor dug out.
The house feels a mess. There is dust everywhere. It feels like it will never get done.
House Rennovations: New Concrete Floor

I have never laid concrete before. I rang round a few firms and got the best price, but I had no idea what to expect then the lorry turned up.
I think it has to rank as one of the scariest experiences of my life, the concrete kept coming. As fast as I could spread it kept coming and it looked like it was going to take over. Fortunately for me Norman (a friendly plumber and church member) rang just as the concrete started to arrive. He came straight round (wellies in hand) and showed me how to level it out.
Thankfully it doesn’t look so bad, though it dips slightly at one end.
